Where To Go & What To Do in Concord, NC

Concord, NC real estate is highly in-demand among homebuyers and investors for many good reasons. In 2017, the city ranked number 38 in Money Magazine’s “Top 100 Best Places to Live” list. An important point considered in the rankings was the number and types of amenities and entertainment options available in each location, and Concord has a plethora of options to offer, including museums, breweries, and parks.

Here are a few you shouldn’t miss:

  • Frank Liske Park
    4001 Stough Rd

When you want to spend some time outdoors, this park offers just about everything you could ask for. Frank Liske Park was once part of a working farm operated by the Stonewall Jackson Training School. It consists of 238 acres, including a 10-acre pond for paddle boating or fishing. The refurbished dairy barn is often used for various gatherings and is home to a summer day camp program. In addition, there are walking and fitness trails, picnic sites, horseshoe pits, playgrounds, volleyball courts, a soccer complex, tennis courts, a softball complex, and 18-holes of mini golf – and more!

  • Rocky River Golf Club
    6900 Bruton Smith Blvd

When you’re ready for a round of golf, head to this premier public course designed by Dan Maples. The golf course is owned by the City of Concord and managed by Embassy Suites. Rocky River is a beautiful setting and is appropriate for all skill levels, from beginner to expert. There are four tee boxes on every hole, which includes PGA Junior tees on the first nine holes.

  • Great Wolf Lodge
    10175 Weddington Rd.

This is exactly what a lodge should be–a comfortable, cozy place to stay while on vacation or travelling for business. And while Great Wolf Lodge is all that, it’s also so much more. Inside, you’ll find an 80,000 square foot indoor water park, mini golf, a ropes course, arcade games, and more fun things for the entire family to enjoy. All this is included in the cost of a room. For those not staying at the lodge, a limited number of day passes are available each day.

  • Historic Cabarrus Association, Inc.
Historic Courthouse, 65 Union Street South, First Floor

The association was founded in 1973 to preserve and restore the Cabarrus County Courthouse, which was slated to be demolished for a parking lot. It has since merged with the Concord Museum, which was started in 1939 as a place to keep documents, books, and artifacts of historical importance to the community. They have also opened the Cabarrus County Veterans Museum. The Historic Association also hosts guest speakers, special programs, and walking tours.

  • Charlotte Motor Speedway
    5555 Concord Parkway S.

North Carolinians love NASCAR, and Charlotte Motor Speedway is certainly a source of pride and joy to the locals. With many NASCAR teams based in neighboring Charlotte, this motorsports complex is considered the home track for the hugely popular sporting event. Many of NASCAR’s most prestigious races are held here, including the NASCAR All-Star Race, the Coca-Cola 600, and the Bank of America Roval 400.
